Tapestry needles, also known as yarn needles, have a tapered shaft and a blunt point, which makes them ideal for sewing knitted pieces together without splitting the yarn fibers. The blunt round tip easily slides through canvas and aida cloth as well. These sewing needles also have a large eye to accommodate a variety of thread weights, including yarn, silk ribbon, as well as for use with multiple strands of embroidery floss at a time.
